OLIVER NORTH IS NRA'S NEW PRESIDENT
Retired Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North, known as a Fox News contributor and from the Iran-Contra scandal, will be the next president of the National Rifle Association. Pete Brownell, chief executive of the Brownells company, will not seek re-election to spend more time with his family. This, in turn, left a void for Ollie North to fill. According to NPR, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence released a statement stating, "Perhaps the NRA is feeling the pressure from the past few months -- but it's downright baffling that they'd choose to install a walking lighting rod at the top of the organization." It is unfortunate that the Brady Campaign would remark on the the government's fall guy for a failed secret operation that was brought to light. We have yet to see the Brady Campaign denounce the likes of Eric Holder for the failed "Fast and Furious" gun running the Obama Administration did with Mexican cartels; irony abound. SAYING GOODBYE TO THE GLOCK 19?
It's time to say goodbye to my Glock 19. It has been a reliable firearm; however, it is time to pass it off to Clint at Williams Gun Works. I am sure I will find something to fill the void, but I am not sure how well it will be filled. Click the image to link to my video. With that being said, you should check out Williams Gun Works. They do a lot of after market upgrades to your firearms. Let them know that Mark from Fit'n Fire sent you! You can find them at http://www.getcustomguns.com/williamsgunworks.html
YETI DROPS NRA?
According to the NRAILA, the legislative arm of the NRA, "...YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why." However, Yeti contests the NRA's assertion by saying, "...YETI notified the NRA Foundation, as well as a number of other organizations, that we were eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs." It would appear that this is a massive 'He said, She said' issue that has no basis. A quick overview of the current state can be found on Snopes.com at https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/yeti-nra-business-ties/. Ultimately, Yeti has no obligation to support the NRA just as a restaurant can refuse service to any patron. That is the nature of a Free Market and the NRA should respect that fact or risk becoming hypocritical. If one would really look at all the companies that are retracting their support of the NRA; then, one should consider the common denominator; the NRA. The NRA could quickly reverse the tide of companies leaving if they would concentrate on more sound political and business decisions. Until then, NRA supporters should turn away from the 'Cult of Personality' and demand change from within.
CMMG Releases the MK4 Banshee
The CMMG Banshee took the gundustry by storm on April 13th, 2018 and has garnered a lot of interest in a short period of time. The Banshee's light frame and condensed package has made it one of the shortest AR offerings on the market today. Silencer Shop sent out the .300 AAC variant for testing and it was extremely impressive. However, it is not without its flaws. The Reviews tab will link to the YouTube video taking a dive deep into some of CMMG's initial missteps. Yet, missteps aside, this is an awesome platform coming right out of the gate. CMMG's quality is top notch and it rivals that of Daniel Defense or BCM. Click the picture to link you to Silencer Shop's website!
